SG Helmets Remanufacturing Policy
SG Helmets must be remanufactured once every two (2) years to maintain all warranties on the SG Helmet. If a helmet is failed to be remanufactured every two (2) years, the customer will be responsible for replacing any parts of the helmet that may require attention, including but not limited to damaged shell, damaged liner, bent facemask, or stripped or stretched hardware. These costs will be in addition to the remanufacturing fee.
SG Helmets extends a 5-year warranty with a 10-year shelf life from the date of purchase to its purchasers. Helmets must be re-certified at SG Helmets only to uphold warranty.

Helmets that are remanufactured every (2) years will not be charged any additional fees to replace damaged parts other than the standard remanufacturing fee*. Standard remanufacturing will include,
1.) Breakdown and inspection of all parts of the helmet.
2.) Shell will be sanded and repainted.
3.) Liner will be cleaned. Fit pads may be left in the liner or taken out.
4.) Facemask will be re-dipped.
5.) Hardware will be cleaned and replaced.
6.) Jaw pads will be replaced.
7.) Trim will be replaced.
*Additional charges may apply for custom paint colors for the helmet and/or facemask.
The NOCSAE standards do not specify or require recertification or remanufacturing of helmets on any particular schedule or frequency. And except for California, there is no state law or regulation that requires helmet remanufacturing or recertification with any specific frequency. NOCSAE recommends that helmets be regularly inspected, and that each school implement a program of regular remanufacturing and recertification.
